Learning English without internet

Short answer: open a game once while online and the game and its sounds are saved on the device, so it works offline next time. Add it to the home screen to open it like an app. And when you want a break from screens, many English games need only your voice and things around you.
Before you go
- While online, open each game your child plays and play for a few seconds so the sounds are saved.
- Add the games to the home screen: see the install guide for iPhone and Android.
- Test once at home with the connection switched off.
Which games work offline
| Game | Offline |
|---|---|
| The 7 island games (free and full) | Yes, after the first visit |
| Find It!, Memory Match, Read It!, Bubble Pop ABC | Yes, after the first visit |
| Spell It!, Word Bubble Shooter, English Word Builder | Yes, after the first visit |
| Audio Memory, Count & Collect, Number Train | No, needs internet |
| Speech recognition (Word Island, I Can Read, Read It!) | Needs internet; offline, the child says the word and taps to continue |
Screen-free English games
- I spy with colors: "I spy something red".
- Count everything on the way: cars, trees, dogs.
- "What am I?" riddles: print the riddles page before you leave.
- Take printed flashcards and worksheets.
